Toronto, ON (May 28, 2020) – York9 FC and the world’s leading provider of GPS trackers for sport, STATSports, are pleased to announce that they have agreed on a long-term partnership as the club’s official wearable performance partner.

STATSports, headquartered in County Down, Northern Ireland, provide a performance analysis system for elite sports teams and individual athletes. The agreement will see the Nine Stripes benefit from access to accurate data that will allow better monitoring of squad fitness to improve performance and prevent injuries, in a live environment.

Managing consultant Angus McNab said: “STATSports have shown to be the leaders in their field for quite some time and it shows the ambition we have as a club to partner with a company that counts Arsenal, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and the Brazil national team as clients.

“Their new apps for the Apple Watch and for iPad will be fantastic for us when we return to play post the COVID-19 shutdown. The guys will undergo a mini preseason, and the ability for individual coaches to have a monitor on their wrist will help us keep an eye on the players to ensure peak performance and manage load.

“We will also be making selected performance data from both training and games available to fans across our social media platforms. It is important that we highlight elite player performance at the club, and the data can be used to show what being a professional athlete is all about to all young aspiring players.”
