York9 FC Signs Goalkeeper Ezequiel Carrasco

Toronto, ON (July 10, 2020) – York9 FC has added goalkeeping depth options with the signing of 17-year-old Ezequiel Carrasco to a contract.

Carrasco has spent much of the past few seasons working directly with current York9 Assistant Coach and Goalkeeping Coach Camilo Benzi while playing with the Kleinburg Nobleton Soccer Club, as well as a training stint with Chilean Primera División club Everton de Viña del Mar.

Managing consultant Angus McNab said: “He is a promising young talent who Camilo has worked with for many years. He came with the squad to Florida and has the opportunity to be with us full time now.”

Carrasco joins the club following the release of Colm Vance in order for him to focus on areas outside of football. Vance is studying for his MCATs in July.

McNab added: “Colm is a great guy and we really valued his presence in the squad. I was disappointed to grant him a release but it was 100% the right thing to do. He has been first class to deal with during this and I’m sure he’s going to be a phenomenal doctor – who knows, he could even be our team physician one day if that’s the route or specialism he takes. Colm will always be a part of our club family.”
