Preben Ganzhorn
President, York Sports and Entertainment

Being born into a footballing family, and with FC Copenhagen nearby plus Denmark’s improbable 1992 European Championship to celebrate, it was inevitable that Preben Ganzhorn would find passion and purpose in the beautiful game.

A graduate of Harvard Business School, Preben has held positions with Callaway Golf Canada, and Carlsberg, before joining Toronto FC where he was a triple threat in Marketing, Community Relations and Game Day Operations. Ganzhorn is eager to embark on his new footballing journey as managing partner of York9 FC.

Jim Brennan
Vice President, York Sports and Entertainment

If there is one person who understands both York Region and the journey to professional football, its Newmarket’s own Jim Brennan. With 49 caps for Canada, and 275 games overseas, Jim’s career came full circle in 2006 when he came home to become Toronto FC’s first signing.

Brennan’s career also featured Canada’s 2000 Gold Cup win, and a rightful place in our country’s Soccer Hall of Fame. Despite climbing through the ranks of Bristol City and winning a division championship with Norwich, Jim’s most impressionable years were spent at the famous double European Cup Winning Nottingham Forest, where he learned the values instilled by legendary former manager, Brian Clough.

Today Brennan is embracing his new challenge; connecting club with community, while instilling a culture of excellence for York9 FC. As the former assistant GM of Toronto FC, Jim began formulating his administration philosophies in the North American context. Having two executives who understand the game from both domestic and foreign shores will give York9 FC a great competitive advantage.
